Langston Overholt III was a citizen of the United States and employed in the intelligence field.
Biography[]
In 1944, Langston Overholt III joined the Office of Strategic Services at the age of 18. When the CIA was established in 1947, Overholt was one of the many operatives who switched organizations. While it is not specified which branch of the CIA he worked for, his actions suggest he was involved with the Special Activities Division.
In 1959, Langston Overholt III was stationed in Tibet, where he along with a team of seven men personally assisted the Dalai Lama is his flight into exile, which included asking the CIA for paramilitary support. At the Tibetan border with India, Overholt promised the Dalai Lama that the United States would one day return the leader to his throne. He is the father of Langston Overholt IV. [1]
The Overholt Legacy[]
At least one Overholt has served in every war involving the United States since the Revolutionary War. Langston Overholt I was a spy during the Civil War and Langston Overholt II was a spy during World War I.
